TERMS AND CONDITIONS
Last updated: 8 September 2026
These terms cover software you buy or trial directly from koalasampler.com, such as the Koala Sampler plugin for desktop. They are a contract between you and Mazbox Limited, trading as elf audio ("we", "us"). Koala bought through the Apple App Store or Google Play is covered by those stores' own terms instead.
1. The licence
When you buy the plugin you get a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to install and use it. You don't own the software; you own the right to use it.
- One licence can be active on up to 3 computers at the same time. You can deactivate a computer from your account or from inside the plugin to free up a slot.
- The licence is for you (one person). Multiple people in a studio or school each need their own licence.
- The licence doesn't expire. Updates to the same major version are included.
2. Trial
The plugin runs as a free trial for 7 days per computer with no purchase needed. After that it stops working until you buy a licence. Please use the trial to make sure the plugin works in your setup before you buy.
3. What you can't do
- Share, sell, rent or lend your licence or activation.
- Reverse engineer, decompile or work around the licensing or trial system.
- Use the software to break the law.
Music you make with Koala is yours. We claim no rights over it. Bundled sample content is covered by the sample pack licence.
4. Buying and payment
Purchases are processed by our reseller and merchant of record, Paddle. Paddle takes your payment, handles tax and sends you the receipt, so their buyer terms also apply. Prices are shown in your local currency including any applicable tax.
Refunds are covered by our refund policy. If a purchase is refunded or charged back, the licence is cancelled and the plugin will stop working.
5. Your account
Licences are tied to the email address used at checkout. Sign-in is by email link, so keep that mailbox secure. You can see and manage your licences and computers at koalasampler.com/account.
6. Support and updates
We'll do our best to help through support and to fix bugs, but we don't promise specific response times, features or compatibility with every host or operating system forever. We may retire old versions.
7. Warranty and liability
The software is provided "as is". We don't guarantee it will be free of bugs or work with every setup, which is what the trial is for. To the extent the law allows, we aren't liable for lost work, lost profits or indirect losses arising from use of the software. Our total liability to you is limited to what you paid for the licence. Nothing here removes rights you have as a consumer under UK or EU law.
8. Ending the licence
We can end your licence if you seriously breach these terms, for example by sharing activations. You can stop using the software at any time; deleting it doesn't entitle you to a refund outside the refund policy.
9. Changes
We may update these terms. The date at the top says when. For material changes affecting existing customers we'll email the address on your account.
10. Law and contact
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. Consumers elsewhere keep the protections of their local law.
